Real Beauty Lies Within...
Right now before you do anything else, I want you to list as many positive things about your body image as possible. GO....
If your anything like me that would have been a difficult list to start writing and even once you have decided on a few positive things, you will look back over that list and re-evaluate if you really are happy with those features.
Why don't you like certain things about your body? Because someone has told you, you need to look a certain way. Because the media has morphed the true representation of beauty.
Beauty is not measured by how much we weigh, how big our bums are, how saggy our boobs are, how big your lips are, how wide your eyes are, how curvy your hips are or how well shaped your eyebrows are!
There is such a big competition against 'curvy' women and 'skinny' women. Why is it acceptable to say 'fuck skinny bitches' or 'fuck fat bitches'? What gave anyone the right to tell another person what we find desirable about each others bodies?
Some of these images have been floating around on the internet:
What makes these acceptable?!
You have no idea why a woman is the weight she is and you have no idea to judge why she may chose to be that way. What if she doesn't choose to be that way and can't do anything about it, you are shaming her for something she has no control over.
No you can't just EAT MORE to put on weight, some people have very complex health problems or disorders which makes putting on an inch of weight very, very difficult.
No you can't just WORK OUT to loose weight, some people also have very complex health problems or disorders which makes loosing an inch of weight very, very difficult.
How dare someone categorise what 'REAL MEN' like, or what a 'REAL WOMAN' should look like.
Every man has his own preference on what he finds beautiful and what he is attracted to just the same and every woman has her own idealism on what she find beautiful about herself.
No woman should compare another to just bones as should they not categories men as dogs. All these sayings just demoralise and dehumanise each other.
We should be embracing each others differences and encouraging each other to be the best we can be!
There is no 'perfect', a pretty face does't make up for an ugly heart.
The only person who is being dehumanised is you if you agree with the pictures that are posted. The media has dehumanised you to a robot, which must conform to the idealisms of todays 'beauty'. You are the person who needs to change and you represent what ugly really is.
For those who embrace each other despite our differences, you portray real beauty and what it really stands for.
No go back to that list, start again, write down s many beautiful things about yourself... the list should be endless <3
